John’s Story and How He Helps

People often ask why I decided to get into the personal training business. I tell them it’s a path I’ve been on since childhood. I may not have known it at the time, but helping people improve their health and athleticism was a natural progression for me. Call it destiny.

I was not very athletic as a kid. By the time I reached middle school I was really out of shape and I wanted to do something about it. I began running and started seeing slow but steady improvements. I was building speed and endurance and I felt better about myself. I kept running for years. Over time, I began to take on new challenges. I competed in triathlons (swimming, cycling, running) which were challenging and fun. In my later college years, I began competing internationally in several world championships.

Like many athletes who compete at high levels, I eventually sustained some injuries and had to learn to rehab them. This time of transition eventually led me to Olympic weightlifting, which is very different from competing in triathlons, but it made me realize how much I loved exercise and athletic competitions of all kinds.

Working through my injuries taught me how to help other people succeed and train in a safe manner that gets optimal results, whether your goals are to lose weight, gain muscle, compete in athletic competitions, or all three. Name your weight loss or competition goal and together, we’ll crush it — faster and smarter — with the advice and accountability you need.

I earned my bachelor’s degree in Exercise and Movement Science from the University of Vermont. I understand how the body works and how to train people based on their health and their goals. I love helping people who have never set foot in a gym or have been competing for decades at the highest levels.

Let’s get started and get results!
